Abeyance

Abeyance, a noun used to define “inactivity”. Synonyms: cessation, deferral, discontinuation, dormancy, inaction, inactivity, intermission, latency, pause, pending, postponement, quiescence, recess, remission, suspension, waiting.

So, where am I heading with all of this? Answer: A simple description about the state of my blog. Total Abeyance! At first, I thought I must write everyday, even if it is a small paragraph, a note or a poem. Call it procrastination, call it laziness, even lack of time comes to mind. All of the above can be listed as causes that lead to the late birth of my blog. Unfortunately, after celebrating its birth, due to “abeyance” what I now see is stunted growth.

Is it lack of imagination? Maybe the overused excuse... writer's block. It can also be that the topic of interest eludes me. It IS there but just beyond my reach. Like chasing a butterfly who is so near and yet far. Fluttering just above ...

Once a topic (read as head) is captured (determined) in the author's mind, the body is then easy to form. But capturing the head is the crux of posting.

Is it easier to have a topic predefined by someone, or even given as part of a series? In that situation, one has to first delve into research and then let the grey matter run wild. On the flip side, dealing with a blog on any topic poses a block that resumes with creating the topic or title. When the topic is in place, the fingers take the text to its peak ... of creation.

Back to the topic - “abeyance” so what next? Blame it on the depression off some coast and the current weather, my fingers are frozen!
