Focus Reset Challenge: Bible Study - Part 2/5

2 Corinthians 4: 17-18 -

For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Reflect on these verses and write them using your own words. What is God saying to you?

  1. On Earth, we have light and temporary troubles. But in Heaven, we will have eternal glory that surpasses all the troubles.
  2. In our race, we therefore fix our eyes on Heaven (i.e. on what is unseen and unknown to us).
God reveals our Earthly race step by step to achieve the Heavenly purpose. On Earth, we attain glory and it is known to us. It is also temporary. But Heavenly glory is eternal. Aim for the Heavenly glory.

Let go of the worries that rob your focus and hold you back. Write a prayer giving these cares to God and praising Him for this victory!
Lord I thank you that You are our Provider, our Father. You chose us and called us out for your Kingdom. Lord, I know that all of us are your children and that you are in control of our lives. Help us to remember You are in control always. Help me not to worry about the future of our child(ren) in her day to day personality or actions. Help me to remember to bring all my cares to You for You to handle this. Help me not to try and control things myself. Help me to be Your child in my thoughts, words and deeds. In Jesus name I ask, Amen.

Yesterday you listed some of the distractions that rob your focus. Sometimes, just being aware of these distractions can help you set your course right. Go back to that list and rewrite your “focus thieves” in the left column below. Feel free to include different distractors if you’ve thought of something new. Then, think about one specific action you can take to reset your focus if these focus thieves arise today. Could you pray? Sing? Recite your favorite verse? Think about what works for you, and add that to the second column.

Focus Thieves Actions to set my Focus
1.Phone-WA * Check only thrice a day;- important issues
2.Making plans - to do lists for family but procrastination for action * Every night make a plan for one action item per day no need for lists
3.Not good enough;
no plan or focus on self

* One bible study challenge (ongoing)/ disciple journal bible reading plan; career oriented study everyday

Spend a few minutes thinking about the blessings in your life and write down three (or more!). Think about how grateful you are for these, and take a moment to thank God for them.
1. For keeping my family safe through the pandemic with plenty of provision.
2. For my extended family members who are so supportive and loving.
3. For opportunities and experiences being handed to us by God's grace.
