Birth of Contemplative Dream Box

“Start posting on a blog site” reads the long pending and most deferred item on my to-do list. Today, after completing many urgent commitments, I sit down to investigate the details of how to create my account on a blog site.

Finding the site was the easiest possible task. It was like an oxymoron when I discovered that the next step to the process was every bit demanding. Entering the details of username and password was the easier bit, but then, the next text box was placed there for me to enter the name that would appear on the blogs. Hmmmm ... THIS seemed a daunting task.

Many quotes came to mind... Wasn't it Lord Jeffrey who likened a name to good will? I do not remember the exact quote so I do some on-line searching ... Here's what I find. Lord Jeffrey's quote and another quote by Ecclesiasticus that describes more aptly what I feel right now. Or, should I mention Socrates' quote that compares names to jewels?
  • A good name, like good will, is got by many actions and lost by one—Lord Jeffery
  • Have regard for your name, since it will remain for you longer than a great store of gold—Ecclesiasticus
  • Regard your good name as the richest jewel you can possibly be possessed of - for credit is like fire; when once you have kindled it you may easily preserve it, but if you once extinguish it, you will find it an arduous task to rekindle it again. The way to gain a good reputation is to endeavor to be what you desire to appear—Socrates

After reading the quotes I get the added pressure of finding a name that describes my qualities and yet sounds profound in the blog world.

Time for some soul searching to excavate my “qualities”... With that exercise complete, I am left with a list of qualities that I feel best describes my word talent. Then, thanks to the On-line Thesaurus, I finalize a nice-sounding name to begin my journey on blog land.

And that's how the practical thinker got christened “Contemplative Dream Box”.
